Public Notice Roundup: Roadworks, Health Alerts, and Planning Consultations

The following official notices and public service announcements are active for the Sunshine Coast region on Saturday, 28 March 2026. Residents and visitors are advised to review these updates to ensure they are informed of current health advice, infrastructure projects, and administrative deadlines.

Road and Infrastructure Updates

Motorists should anticipate delays and changed traffic conditions due to several ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation projects across the region. Essential works are scheduled as follows:

  • Alexandra Headland: Road rehabilitation works continue on Janet Street. This project commenced in mid-March and is expected to remain active through the first week of April. Expect lane closures and local detours.
  • Buderim: Lane reductions are currently in place at 89 Wises Road. These works are scheduled to continue through 31 March. Additionally, road resealing remains underway in the Rainforest Sanctuary area, with minor delays expected.
  • Little Mountain: Night and day resealing works are active on Latcham Drive. Drivers are urged to follow all posted signage and traffic controller directions to ensure the safety of road crews.
  • Beerburrum to Beerwah: As part of the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1, motorists should expect increased worker vehicle movements and potential delays on Steve Irwin Way between Endeavour Road and Roys Road. Standard work hours for this project include Saturdays from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Public Health Advisories

Queensland Health and Sunshine Coast Health have issued the following updates regarding communicable diseases and community wellness:

  • Measles Alert: Health authorities continue to monitor measles activity following the confirmation of several cases in the state this month. Residents are encouraged to ensure their vaccinations are up to date. Early symptoms include fever, runny nose, and a blotchy red rash. If you suspect exposure, please phone your medical provider before arriving at a clinic.
  • Infant Botulism: A single case of infant botulism was recently notified within the health district. While the source remains under investigation, health officials remind parents and caregivers to avoid providing honey to infants under 12 months of age as a safety precaution.

Planning and Community Notices

Participation in local government processes is encouraged through the following active notices:

  • Caloundra Transport Corridor Upgrade: Preliminary documentation for the Caloundra Transport Corridor (Omrah Avenue to Nicklin Way) is on public display for comment. The project is being assessed for potential impacts on Matters of National Environmental Significance, including local koala populations. Documents are available for review at Council Customer Contact Counters in Maroochydore and Caloundra until 10 April 2026.
  • Rates Notices: The payment period for new owner rates notices is currently active. Residents who have recently acquired property in the region have until 2 April 2026 to finalize their payments.

The Sunshine Coast Council and local health authorities thank the community for their patience and cooperation during these essential works and public health monitoring periods.
