Official City Roundup: Thursday, 2 April 2026
This roundup provides essential public notices, maintenance schedules, and regulatory deadlines for the Sunshine Coast region. Residents are advised to take note of the following official announcements active for Thursday, 2 April 2026.
Road Maintenance and Infrastructure Works
Sunshine Coast Council has scheduled several key infrastructure projects to commence or continue today. Residents should plan for potential delays and follow all posted detours and traffic controller instructions.
- Woombye: Major road maintenance begins today, 2 April, at the Blackall Range Road Bridge (Division 5). These works are expected to last approximately two weeks, subject to weather conditions. Local access will be maintained, but motorists should expect minor delays.
- Nambour: Ongoing ancillary works continue on Currie Street (Division 10). Traffic management is in place as this three-week project enters its second half.
- Alexandra Headland: Road rehabilitation remains in progress on Janet Street (Division 4). Construction is scheduled to continue through the end of next week.
- Mooloolaba: Night works for the Mooloolaba Road intersection upgrade continue between 7:00 pm and 6:00 am. Partial lane closures and reduced speed limits are active during these hours to minimize daytime disruption.
Critical Regulatory Deadlines
Two major administrative deadlines fall today, Thursday, 2 April. Failure to act may result in financial penalties or interest charges.
- Pet Registrations: Today is the final deadline for Noosa dog owners to renew overdue pet registrations that expired in late 2025. Owners who have not updated their details or paid the required fees by close of business today risk a $333 penalty. This includes notifications for pets that have moved or passed away.
- Council Rates: Rate notices for new property owners are due for payment today, 2 April 2026. Payments can be made via official council online portals, phone, or in person at customer service centers in Maroochydore, Caloundra, and Nambour.
Public Health and Holiday Services
As the region prepares for the upcoming Easter holiday period, health and waste services have issued the following advisories:
- Waste Collection: All kerbside waste, recycling, and garden organics collections will proceed as scheduled. Residents whose regular collection day falls on a public holiday are reminded that services will operate as normal.
- Health Advisory: Queensland Health has released a seasonal advisory regarding healthy eating and food safety during Easter festivities. Residents are also urged to remain vigilant regarding tick safety and to take precautions against soil-borne diseases such as melioidosis following recent wet weather across the Coast.
