Public Notice: Essential Roadworks and Community Consultation Updates

Official Council Notice: Essential Infrastructure Maintenance
Sunshine Coast Council has issued several updates regarding road and pathway works across the region for Wednesday, 25 March 2026. Residents and commuters are advised of ongoing maintenance and rehabilitation projects that may affect local travel times. These works are part of the Council's commitment to improving road safety and infrastructure longevity.
- Alexandra Headland: Road rehabilitation works continue on Janet Street. This project, which commenced on 16 March, is expected to remain active for another week. Motorists should anticipate temporary lane closures and are encouraged to follow all directional signage provided by on-site traffic controllers.
- Little Mountain: Road resealing is currently underway on Latcham Drive. Works began on 23 March and are scheduled to continue for approximately two weeks. Residents may experience restricted vehicle access during active work hours, typically between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
- Buderim: Ongoing road resealing continues in the Rainforest Sanctuary area. This project is part of a broader Division 7 maintenance program and is expected to be completed by early April, weather permitting.
- Aroona: Pathway renewal at Ocean Ridge Park is currently in progress. The existing footpath is being replaced to ensure safe pedestrian access. These works are expected to conclude by the end of the month.
- Alex Bluff Foreshore: The significant upgrade of the Coastal Pathway remains active. This long-term project is widening the existing path to a 3.5-meter shared pathway to improve accessibility for walkers and cyclists.
