Service Alert: Regional Library Closures

This scheduled closure is required for essential staff development and team training. During this 24-hour period, return chutes will remain open at most locations. All branches will resume regular operating hours on Thursday, 19 February.

Traffic Update: First Avenue and Regional Roadworks

Commuters are advised of ongoing construction and significant traffic changes currently active across the region:

• Maroochydore: Work continues on the First Avenue upgrade. Until 19 February, motorists should expect intermittent lane closures and the operation of temporary traffic lights at the intersection of The Esplanade and Duporth Avenue. A major shift in traffic flow is scheduled for Friday, 20 February, when the northbound lane of First Avenue will be closed for a period of approximately 15 months.
• Regional Resealing: Road resealing operations are active this week in Pelican Waters (Godwin Place and Grace Court), Bli Bli (Kupiano Drive and Waigani Street), and Burnside (Greenhaven Close and Windsor Road). Residents in these areas should follow all local detours and expect minor delays between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
• Steve Irwin Way: Ongoing works associated with the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1 continue to impact traffic with reduced speed limits and increased heavy vehicle movements.
