Planned Water Outages: Nambour and Rosemount

Unitywater has issued a public notice for planned network improvements scheduled for Wednesday, 11 February 2026. Residents in Bli Bli, Nambour, and Rosemount are advised that water supply may be interrupted between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm while crews undertake essential maintenance to the local supply network. Affected streets include portions of Andreasens Road, Bli Bli Road, Panorama Drive, and Petrie Creek Road. Residents are encouraged to store at least five litres of water per person for drinking and basic hygiene requirements during the outage period.

Library Lovers’ Week Across the Coast

Sunshine Coast Libraries are currently hosting "Fall in Love with Your Library" celebrations, running through Wednesday, 11 February, and concluding on 14 February. Official notices from the Council encourage community members to visit local branches in Maroochydore, Caloundra, and Nambour to participate in curated displays and activities celebrating local stories and characters. This initiative is part of the broader 2026 events calendar aimed at increasing community engagement with regional library services.

Infrastructure Alert: Steve Irwin Way Upgrades

Motorists are reminded of ongoing traffic changes on Steve Irwin Way between Beerburrum and Beerwah. As part of the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1, construction activities are active this Wednesday. Public notices indicate that while most heavy works occur at night (7:00 pm to 6:00 am), daytime motorists should expect reduced speed limits, changed traffic signage, and potential minor delays due to increased worker vehicle movements near the intersection of Steve Irwin Way and Roys Road. These works are expected to continue through mid-2026.

Public Tenders: Community Infrastructure Projects

Sunshine Coast Council has officially opened several public tenders for infrastructure development. Active notices for 11 February include ITT2541 for building works at Eddie De Vere and ITT2523 for the construction of new amenities and equipment storage at Reserve 1000 in Golden Beach. Additionally, the Council is seeking contractors for the multi-use clubhouse project on Honey Farm Road in Caloundra. Local businesses and qualified contractors are encouraged to review these opportunities via the official VendorPanel portal.

School Zone Safety and Health Reminder

Following the recent return to school, health authorities at Sunshine Coast Health are reminding parents to maintain high standards of hygiene and nutrition in school lunchboxes to combat seasonal illnesses. While the official statewide free flu vaccination program is set to commence on 1 March, residents are encouraged to consult their local GPs regarding current immunisation schedules and back-to-school health checks.
