Public Notice: Regional Infrastructure Upgrades and Road Maintenance Schedule

Official Notice: Sunshine Coast Infrastructure and Public Service Update
The Sunshine Coast Council and relevant state authorities have issued the following public service announcements and infrastructure updates for Saturday, 7 February 2026. Residents and visitors are advised to review these notices to ensure minimal disruption to travel and local activities.
Road Resealing and Maintenance Program
Council’s seasonal road maintenance program continues this week with several active resealing projects. Motorists should expect changed traffic conditions, including reduced speed limits and short-term delays, at the following locations:
- Peachester: Road resealing works on River Road are ongoing. These works are expected to be completed by mid-February.
- Pelican Waters: Resealing is currently underway on Godwin Place, Grace Court, and Stirling Castle Court. Residents may experience restricted vehicle movement during active work hours.
- Flaxton: Maintenance has commenced on Ensbey Road as of 6 February. Traffic management is on-site to assist residents and through-traffic.
Major Transport Infrastructure Projects
Significant state-led infrastructure projects are impacting major transit corridors. On Steve Irwin Way, works associated with the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1 are active. Standard day works occur Monday through Saturday between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm. Motorists should anticipate increased heavy vehicle movements and potential delays between Beerburrum and Beerwah.
Furthermore, Stage 1 of the Mooloolah River Interchange Upgrade is intensifying. The Seriata Way and Incana Court active transport networks remain closed to facilitate construction. Pedestrians and cyclists are directed to use the designated detour via Lady Musgrave Drive and Amarina Avenue.
Park and Pathway Improvements
Community amenity upgrades are progressing at several coastal and suburban sites:
- Alexandra Headland: The Alex Bluff Foreshore Park coastal pathway upgrade is officially underway. The project involves widening the existing path to a 3.5-meter shared pathway. Construction is expected to span several months, with temporary diversions in place.
- Bli Bli: Construction of the new 1.8-meter-wide pathway on Princess Drive continues. This project aims to connect Wharf Road to Armour Place and is scheduled for completion next week.
Administrative and Health Notices
Council reminds property owners that January rate notices were issued last month. The due date for payment is Friday, 20 February 2026. Residents are encouraged to utilize online payment portals to ensure processing before the deadline.
Queensland Health continues to advise residents to take precautions against soil-borne diseases such as melioidosis following recent wet weather. Protective clothing and gloves should be worn during gardening or any activities involving contact with soil or standing water.
