Public Notice: Road Maintenance and Community Engagement Roundup

Road Maintenance and Traffic Advisories
Sunshine Coast Council is currently undertaking its scheduled road reseal and rehabilitation program across several suburbs. Residents and motorists are advised of active works occurring on Monday, 16 February 2026. For all sites listed below, day work typically occurs between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Traffic management measures, including lane closures and reduced speed limits, will be in place to ensure the safety of workers and the public.
- Burnside: Road resealing operations are active at Greenhaven Close, Parkvista Court, and Windsor Road. These works are part of a two-week maintenance block that commenced earlier this month.
- Bli Bli: Maintenance teams are scheduled to continue work on Kupiano Drive and Waigani Street. Local residents will maintain property access, though minor delays should be expected.
- Flaxton: Surface resealing remains ongoing on Ensbey Road. Motorists are encouraged to plan for extra travel time.
- Steve Irwin Way (Rail Upgrade): Ongoing construction for the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade Stage 1 continues between Beerburrum and Beerwah. Motorists should expect increased heavy vehicle movements and potential night works (Sunday through Thursday).
Noosa Shire Administrative Notices
Noosa Council reminds residents and local organisations of several critical deadlines and engagement opportunities active this week:
- Rates Payment Deadline: Property owners are reminded that the due date for the current rates notice is Friday, 20 February 2026. Payments received by this date are eligible for a five per cent discount on the general rate.
- Community Project Grants: The 2026 Community Project Grants Program is now accepting applications. Local not-for-profit organisations seeking funding for community-led initiatives have until 23 March to submit their proposals.
- 2026 Liveability Survey: Council is inviting residents to participate in the shire-wide Liveability Survey to help shape future planning and infrastructure priorities. The survey remains open until 8 March 2026.
Caloundra CBD Parking Update
Sunshine Coast Council recently confirmed that free parking is set to return to the Caloundra CBD starting 2 March 2026. While preparation and signage updates are currently being planned, residents are reminded that existing paid parking regulations and time limits remain in force throughout the transition period to ensure adequate vehicle turnover for local traders.
Public Health and Safety
Sunshine Coast Health advises the community to maintain high standards of hygiene as the school term continues. Parents are encouraged to ensure student vaccinations are up to date and to monitor for symptoms of common seasonal illnesses. Additionally, residents in hinterland areas are reminded to remain "tick aware" during outdoor activities, as late summer conditions remain conducive to tick activity in long grasses and bushland.
