Official Public Notices and Service Updates
As of Tuesday, 10 February 2026, the following official notices and public service announcements are active for residents across the Sunshine Coast region. This roundup includes essential updates on infrastructure projects, traffic conditions, and community engagement opportunities.
Road and Pathway Infrastructure Works
- Peachester (Storrs Road): Construction is currently underway for a new 200-metre concrete footpath on Storrs Road. Works commenced on Monday, 9 February, and are expected to continue for approximately two weeks. Residents should expect minor site noise and localized traffic management between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.
- Alexandra Headland (Alex Bluff Foreshore Park): Significant upgrades to the Coastal Pathway network are ongoing. The project involves widening the existing path to a 3.5-metre shared pathway to improve safety and accessibility. Work is expected to continue through mid-2026.
- Bli Bli (Princess Drive): A new 1.8-metre-wide pathway is being installed along a 72-metre stretch of Princess Drive, connecting Wharf Road to Armour Place. This project is in its final week of construction.
Regional Traffic and Transit Alerts
- Bruce Highway (Tanawha): A mandatory 60km/h speed limit remains in effect for the southbound lanes near the Ilkley Road overpass. Following a recent bridge strike, the overpass remains closed to all traffic for safety assessments and temporary repairs. This speed restriction is scheduled to remain in place until at least 1 April 2026.
- The Wave Metro Transit Corridor: Site investigations for Stage 3 of the Sunshine Coast's high-capacity transit route (Birtinya to Sunshine Coast Airport) are active. Crews are conducting geotechnical and environmental surveys on weekdays from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. While no major traffic impacts are expected, motorists may see workers along the corridor.
- Steve Irwin Way: Ongoing works associated with the Beerburrum to Nambour Rail Upgrade continue to impact traffic between Beerburrum and Beerwah. Standard day works occur Monday to Saturday, with night works scheduled Sunday to Thursday from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.
Community Engagement and Council Events
- Noosa Council Grants Network: A "Grants Network and Nibbles Night" is being held today, Tuesday, 10 February, for local not-for-profit organizations. The session provides advice on the Community Project Grants Program. Organizations interested in applying for funding are encouraged to attend the session at the Council chambers.
- Regional Libraries: The "Fall in love with your library" program is running from 9–14 February across all Sunshine Coast Council library branches, featuring special storytelling sessions and community activities.
Utilities and Health Advisories
