Public Notice: Essential Infrastructure Works and Regional Health Advisories
Official City Notice: Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program
Sunshine Coast Council wishes to advise residents of scheduled road maintenance and resealing works commencing this week. These essential upgrades are part of the ongoing Road Reseal and Rehabilitation Program designed to improve safety and asset longevity across the region.
- Buddina: Works on Iluka Avenue are scheduled to commence on Thursday, 5 March 2026. Residents should expect intermittent lane closures and property access restrictions between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm for a duration of approximately two weeks.
- Eumundi: Road resealing continues on Jocelyn Drive following its commencement on 4 March. Traffic management remains in place.
- Maroochydore and Point Arkwright: Maintenance crews are currently active on Waterford Court, Plymouth Quay, Edward Street, and Jubilee Esplanade. Work is expected to continue through the middle of next week.
Motorists are reminded to follow all directional signage and exercise caution near work zones. Every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, though minor delays are expected.
Sunrise Beach Landslide Stabilisation Project
Major infrastructure works are now underway at Sunrise Beach to address long-term stability at the Sunshine Creek landslide site. This $2.5 million project involves significant embankment stabilisation and stormwater system upgrades.
Effective immediately and continuing through early March, the following disruptions are active:
- Full closure of the coastal pathway between Sobraon Street and Adams Street/Ross Crescent.
- Temporary road closures near the pathway entrance to facilitate construction machinery.
- Short-term, intermittent closures of Beach Access 35 for public safety during material removal.
Parents are encouraged to plan alternative safe routes for children who typically use these pathways for school travel. Standard working hours are 6:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Public Health Advisory: Measles Alert
Queensland Health has maintained a measles alert for the Sunshine Coast following confirmed cases in the region. Residents who visited public locations between mid-February and early March are urged to monitor for symptoms, which include fever, cough, and a blotchy red rash.
If you suspect you have been exposed, please contact your GP or call 13 HEALTH (13 43 25 84) before attending any medical facility to prevent further transmission. The MMR vaccine remains free and available for eligible residents through local clinics.
